ANNOUNCEMENT OF TÜRKİYE SCHOLARSHIPS 2018 APPLICATIONS

Apart from providing education opportunities at an international caliber as well as a wealth of knowledge and experience, Turkey also offers scholarships to outstanding international students from all over the world to study in the most prestigious universities in Turkey.
Applications for 2018 Türkiye Scholarships will be open between 1-30 November 2017 for citizens of the following countries: Angola, Argentina, Australia, Botswana, Brazil, South Africa, South Korea, Kenya, Colombia, Costa Rica, Malaysia, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, Paraguay, Peru, Rwanda, Singapore, Chile, Thailand, Uganda, Uruguay, New Zealand, Zambia, Zimbabwe.
Applications will be open to applicants who wish to study at bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral levels.
The application dates for other countries will be announced at a later date.
Applications can only be made through www.turkiyeburslari.gov.tr. Applicants are required to submit and upload the necessary documents to the application system.
Applications delivered by post, courier, or by hand will not be accepted.

Are there any authorized persons or institutions for the application?
There are no institutions or persons authorized to apply for Türkiye Scholarships. Candidates must submit their applications to www.turkiyeburslari.gov.tr personally. Candidates are strongly advised to carefully read the instructions and warnings in the application system.
Is there any age limit for the applications?
Candidates must not be older than 21 years of age for undergraduate degree, 30 years of age for master’s degree and 35 years of age for doctoral degree.
Is it a must to be a graduate in order to apply?
 
Applicants who apply to Türkiye Scholarships must be a graduate or able to graduate at the end of the current academic year.
Are there required documents to be submitted during the application?
Candidates have to meet the criteria of the university and department which they choose. If it is requested by the university or department, candidates must submit the necessary documents such as the scores of SAT, TOEFL, DELF, YDS, etc. Applications of candidates who do not submit the required documents will not be evaluated.
 
How is the evaluation process of the applications?
In the evaluation process of the applications, candidates will be evaluated based on their eligibility to the application criteria of the program applied for as well as their academic and social achievements.
Is it possible for the candidates to choose any department which they want?
In the application system, universities and departments which candidates can choose will be available according to the educational background of the candidate. Candidates may only choose universities and departments available to them in the system. An additional choice of university or department that is not available in the system is not possible.

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS

 
Candidates who have graduated or are likely to graduate from an educational institution equivalent to that of Türkiye’s in the present academic (i.e. bachelor’s degree for master’s level) can apply to Türkiye Scholarships.
There is also age condition for candidates required to meet.
• For applicants applying to Undergraduate Degree: Those who were born no earlier than 01.01.1997,
• For applicants applying to Master’s Degree: Those who were born no earlier than 01.01.1988,
• For applicants applying to Ph.D Degree: Those who were born no earlier than 01.01.1983,
• For applicants applying to Research Program: Those who were born no earlier than 01.01.1973,
• Applicants shouldn’t have any health problems barrier to education.
It is expected to have certain academic score from candidates for each program and scholarship level. There are specific minimum score of the program that you are applying at “assessment and selection” section.
Students who are currently studying in Türkiye are not allowed to apply to the level that they are already studying.
Turkish citizens and persons who lost Turkish citizenship cannot apply for this scholarship program.
Türkiye scholarships are open for all country citizens who meet these conditions.
Short-term scholarship programs may have additional application requirements. Please check the requirements during the application period.

Scholarship Benefits:

SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITIES

I. Allowance
The monthly allowance allocated according to level of study is as follows:
• Undergraduate Students; 700 Turkish Lira
• Master’s Students; 950 Turkish Lira
• Ph.D. Students; 1,400 Turkish Lira
• Research Scholarships; 3,000 Turkish Lira
II. Accommodation
Türkiye Scholarships students can stay in public university dormitories without paying any fees. Students who do not wish to stay in these dormitories can opt for other housing options on their own expenses.
III. Tuition and Fees
Türkiye Scholarships students do not pay any tuition or university fees.
IV. Health Expenses
Türkiye Scholarships students’ health expenses are covered by public health insurance.
V. Turkish Language Course
Türkiye Scholarships Students are subject to a Turkish language course for one year if they do not have proof of Turkish Language proficiency. Turkiye Scholarships students who will study a program in other languages instead of Turkish are also required to take the Turkish Language Course.
VI. Travel Expenses (One-off Flight Ticket)
Turkish Scholarship students are provided with a once time ticket for their first arrival in Turkey and for their departure after completing their study. If the student purchases the ticket, the amount will be reimbursed later on.

2018 Türkiye Scholarships 2nd round of applications will be received between the dates 5 February – 5 March 2018.
