University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (UCAS) is offering scholarships for international. These scholarships are offered for those applicants who wish to pursue their Master’s and Doctoral and Research or Training study at University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (UCAS) in China.

All courses are available for masters and doctoral degree program by the UCAS
Study/Scholarship Duration
Master’s students: no longer than 36 months
Doctoral students: no longer than 36 months
Students on joint programs: 3-24months
Regular and Senior visiting scholars: 6-24 months
Scholarships Description
Exempted from tuition fee

  • Doctoral students would be exempted from a tuition fee of RMB 40,000/year
  • Master’s students would be exempted from a tuition fee of RMB 30,000/year
  • Senior visiting students would be exempted from a tuition fee of RMB 3,000/month
  • Regular visiting student would be exempted from a tuition fee of RMB 2,600/month.
  • UCAS provides monthly stipend of RMB 2,500 for Doctoral students, senior visiting students and Doctoral students on joint programs, and RMB 2,000 for Master’s students and regular visiting students.
  • UCAS provides basic accommodation to awardees from institutes and schools located in Beijing.

Medical Insurance
The insurance premium is RMB 800/year, with RMB 400 for half-year term, and it would be deducted from the first stipend of each academic year.
Eligibility Criteria

  • A photocopy of your passport’s (with at least 2 years validity) personal information page
  • Original notarized photocopies of degree certificates
  • Master’s program applicants shall submit the original notarized photocopies of their Bachelor’s degree certificates.
  • Doctoral program applicants shall submit those of both their Master’s and Bachelor’s degree certificates.
  • Original transcripts or original notarized photocopies of transcripts
  • Recommendation letters from two professors
  • A recommendation letter must be printed on an official headed paper, with the referee’s signature and date, and be sealed.
  • CV and research proposal
  • Photocopies of all the title pages and abstracts of maximum 5 representative published academic papers
  • A photocopy of the bank receipt for the submission of application processing fee: RMB 600 or USD, EUR equivalent.

How to Apply / Download Scholarships Form
To apply for UCAS scholarship follows this procedure

  • Find an eligible host supervisor affiliated with CAS institute or UCAS School
  • Please refer tohttp://english.ucas.ac.cn/Admissions for information about supervisors.
  • Obtain a host supervisor’s acceptance
  • CAS institute/UCAS school approves
  • UCAS makes the final review and prepares admission documents according to the evaluation result
