Japanese Government Scholarships August 2016 Intake Thailand

The Government of Japan is offering doctoral scholarships in the field of Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems (RS-GIS) of  School of Engineering and Technology (SET) for qualified applicants from the following 3 priority countries.
First priority:
Cambodia, Lao PDR, Myanmar, Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand, Philippines and Malaysia.
Second priority:
Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal, Timore-Leste
Third priority:
India, Mongolia, Pakistan, Sri Lanka
Application deadline is 31 March 2016 .
The scholarship include following supports: 
1) Tuition and registration fees (maximum 6 semesters)
2) Bursary and accommodation costs
3) Visa fee
4) Medical insurance
5) One round-trip international air travel-economy class (for non-Thai applicants)
6) Research support
7) Student Union fee

Eligibility Criteria for Admissions to Doctoral Degree Program
Applicants must:
have strong academic records (both undergraduate and graduate) and normally hold a four-year bachelor’s degree, and a Master’s degree, preferably with a combination of course and thesis work, from an institution of good standing, acceptable to AIT. The minimum GPA requirement for admission to the doctoral program is 3.50 or equivalent at the master’s degree level.
submit a brief outline of dissertation research proposal including the required research facilities, if necessary.
receive a written confirmation that a faculty member at AIT is available and willing to supervise.
