Aims and Scope of the School:
- To open an opportunity to acquire knowledge of theoretical and technical advances in molecular basis of behavior in neuroscience for MS and PhD students from countries of Asia-Pacific region where neuroscience is less well developed.
- To provide students with an opportunity to meet with professionally distinguished scientists of world at one plat form. This will help junior scientists to learn from the experiences of other researchers and also broaden their network in neuroscience scientific community.
- School will focus on the state-of-the-art topics and research strategies which are essential for the academic development and maturation of the young investigators.
- To establish neuroscience research culture in the regional area.

Program Layout
- 30 students will be selected from Pakistan and the neighboring countries with a preference to the participants form countries of Asia Pacific region where neuroscience is less well developed.
- The school will be directed to the students doing MS and PhD studies in the APRC region.
- Students will be divided into five groups. Each group will be composed of 6 students.
- Student’s president will be selected at the beginning of the school.
- There will be group discussions during the school about the lectures and detailed question answer sessions.Lab demonstration on the molecular basis of behavior
- During the school each groups will be asked to design a project (based on the training they had during the school) and at the end of the school each group of students will be given 30 minutes to present their project. The presentation will be supplemented with comments and discussion.
- During the school days (once) and on the final day of the school there will be a social event and a farewell dinner for the encouragement of participants and giving them chance to socialize with each other and discuss collaboration options.
- All the students attending the school will be required to present poster from their own research work. The students will be required to send the abstract for their poster before the school starts and display poster during the time allocated for the poster session in the IBRO-APRC Associate School. The posters will be adjudicated by a committee of faculty members and one best poster award will be given to the best poster.
- Students will be asked to fill the feedback forms on concluding day. Feedback report will be submitted to the IBRO in the final concluding report.

- Labs: Introductory laboratory sessions in neuroscience and discussion session by the invited speakers.
- Students’ research project presentations: Five groups (each group for 20-30 minutes).
- Students’ poster presentations
Who should apply to this School?
Students from the Asia Pacific region are eligible. Those students who are enrolled in MS/M.Phil and PhD studies in the field of neuroscience or having interest to pursue their carrier in neuroscience can apply. Maximum age limit is 37 years until 31st December, 2015. Preference will be given to the students form countries of Asia Pacific Region where neuroscience is less well developed. Selection will be on the basis of previous academic record of the applicant, reference letters and statement of interest provided by the applicant. Selected students will be required to submit an abstract and during the school students will present the poster.
What costs will be covered for selected applicants?
International Participants will be supported with the economy class return airfare, accommodation and meals during the school.
National participants will be provided with road fare, accommodations (only those who are coming outside of Islamabad) and meals during the school.
