Grambling State University is offering its Academic Scholarships for incoming first-year students joining the campus for the year 2021. These funds are for aspirants willing to acquire their higher and quality education at the university.
Each year the university distributes several scholarship funds to assist students with a high academic record. There are a number of awards available for students, which will help them cover various educational expenses such as tuition, fees, and many others.
Grambling State University
Grambling State University, located in Grambling, Louisiana, is a historically black public university. The Eddie G. Robinson Museum is located on campus, and it is part of the Louisiana African American Heritage Trail. The University of Louisiana System and the Thurgood Marshall College Fund are both members of the university.
Eligibility Criteria
To be considered for the award, the applicant must meet the following requirements:
Out of State Residents
- ACT 25 and above – GPA 3.0 and above $5000 Academic Scholarship and Full Out of State Fee Waiver of $9023 per year
- ACT 24 – GPA 3.0 and above $4000 Academic Scholarship and Full Out of State Fee Waiver of $9023 per year
- ACT 23 – GPA 3.5 and above $3000 Academic Scholarship and Full Out of State Fee Waiver of $9023 per year
In-State Residents
- ACT 25 and above – GPA 3.0 and above $5000 Academic Scholarship and TOPS award (pending state allocation)
- ACT 24 – GPA 3.0 and above $4000 Academic Scholarship and TOPS award (pending state allocation)
- ACT 23 – GPA 3.5 and above $3000 Academic Scholarship and TOPS award (pending state allocation)
- Based on the availability of awards and academic performance. Students with the highest SAT/ACT scores and GPAs will have the most excellent chance of receiving an award.

How to Apply for the Scholarship
For applying to these scholarships, candidates are needed to follow these steps:
Step 1: Apply for Admission
There is no need to fill out an application. At the time of admission, students are chosen based on their academic records. Applicants must apply for admission to any of the department’s courses using the university’s online system.

Entry Requirements
- Applicants must meet the general entry requirements for the country/study curriculum.
- You must show proficiency in English and meet the general admission requirements for the country/curriculum you studied.
- Students who meet specific requirements should only be required to take one developmental course. 18 English or 19 Math on the ACT
- SAT 450 Critical Reading or SAT 460 Math (taken prior to March 2016)
- NEW SAT: 25 Writing & Language, 500 Math, or 25 SAT Subject Tests
- If you’re looking for a (optional) The Developmental Pilot Program, which requires enrollment in specific courses, is open to admitted students with an ACT Math subscore of 17 or 18 or an ACT English subscore of 16 or 17.
